We Feed You and NDIS

The good news is that "Core Supports (Daily Activities) – assistance with the cost of meal preparation and delivery of meals" is still a funded line item BUT must be listed as an approved support in your plan.

The NDIS has recently made changes to the list of supports they will or won’t fund. Whilst meals may have been a flexible support item in the past, from the 3rd October 2024, the NDIA has announced that NDIS participants will only be able to use their NDIS funds for items that are listed as approved supports. 

We believe many of our customers will be able to continue using We Feed You as part of your core support listed as  assistance with the cost of meal preparation and delivery of meals, however some participants may be affected, so please check your plan and any changes which have been applied since the Oct 3rd 2024 changes.

Food included

For example, We Feed You are still able to offer meals to participants that have "Assistance with the cost of meal preparation and delivery of meals" included in their plan. We can continue to provide receipts which clearly break down the cost of ingredients separately from delivery and meal preparation. 

Not funded:

  • Groceries including all food, beverage, cleaning, household and health products.
  • Fast food services, takeaway food and food delivery platforms (excluding meal delivery platforms like We Feed You where the food and ingredient component can be separately identified from the meal preparation and delivery component). 

If you are a current customer and you have meal preparation and delivery in your plan, then you should be able to continue ordering through We Feed You.  Please check your plan and your budget allocated to this to ensure you are not exceeding your limits. If in doubt, please discuss with your plan manager or support co-ordinator. 

We Feed You ready meals can help participants with the cost of meal preparation and delivery of meals to your door.

If you would like to discuss having your meals co-funded through your NDIS plan under Assistance with the cost of meal preparation and delivery of meals please reach out to the support team at We Feed You to discuss. 

We can currently work with clients who have meals listed in their plan, are plan managed and approved by their manager to invoice us for meals. 

For self managed participants, please go ahead and order online and request an NDIS receipt from our team at support@wefeedyou.com.au

For NDIA managed participants, unfortunately we cannot currently invoice the NDIA directly so you are unable to order meals with us. But please keep a look out as we are hoping to become an approved provider in 2025.
