We Feed You becomes an Official Partner of Breast Cancer Network Australia
Just over three years ago, we came up with the idea for We Feed You: to create great-tasting, convenient, and nutritious ready meals to help people live their best lives. We were five busy people who enjoyed great food but were struggling to get healthy meals on the table night after night. So we took the plunge and started We Feed You out of a tiny cafe kitchen on the outskirts of Melbourne.
Three years later … we have a growing number of customers across many parts of Australia, including working parents, young professionals, doctors, professional athletes and hospital patients - people who genuinely care what they put in their bodies.
It's been hard work, but incredibly rewarding, and I'm really proud today to announce our latest partnership: with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Through my mum, aunt, and friends, I've seen first-hand the tough journey people face undergoing breast cancer treatment, and if we can make that journey a little bit easier, then it makes what we do all the more worthwhile.
Today's launch is the culmination of nine month's work after we first approached BCNA with the following feedback from one of our customers, Shelley Hearney, who had been struggling with the demands of a breast cancer diagnosis and raising a young family:
"I initially received some We Feed You meals as a gift from friends when I started undergoing treatment for breast cancer. My treatment was relentless. It greatly affected my appetite, increased my nausea and made cooking for myself extremely difficult. I was also low on energy, which increased pressure on my partner to keep working and prepare meals for the rest of our family. I ended up eating We Feed You meals for most nights over the six months treatment period, and my partner enjoyed them on many nights too. Each We Feed You meal was full of excellent quality ingredients, with no added preservatives. I was happy knowing I was eating 'pure' food, perfectly proportioned. Without doubt, We Feed You was an outstanding positive contribution to my improving health over this time."
After discussing the idea of a partnership with BCNA CEO Kirsten Pilatti, the BCNA team quickly moved to trial the meals with members and received really positive feedback on their quality, and convenience both during and after treatment.
The meals were then independently reviewed by Specialists Oncology Dietitian Lauren Atkins at OnCore Nutrition who reported:
"The We Feed You range of meals look really appropriate for the BCNA community. They contain mostly natural, whole-food ingredients with few artificial ingredients and preservatives. The nutritional composition looks good overall, with most providing a suitable amount of protein to meet elevated needs during chemotherapy. They have balanced their macronutrients well, by choosing mostly low GI carbohydrates and have avoided ingredients like processed meats and added sugars, which are often of concern/interest amongst people going through breast cancer treatment. The energy (kJ/calorie) contribution is suitable for that of someone on active treatment and in survivorship so long as individualised advice is sought where needed. The We Feed You dietitian has done a thorough job, and the 'Active Lifestyle' range would be a good place for women on active treatment to start to be confident with their protein intake at meals."
CEO Kirsten Pilatti welcomed We Feed You to the BCNA family and noted the discounted prices being offered to BCNA members.
“Eating well is a key component for breast cancer survivors. We are very happy to partner with a company that delivers healthy, ready-made meals to our members,” said Kirsten.
As an official partner of BCNA, We Feed You meals will be available to BCNA members at a reduced rate to support them and their families when they need it most. For more details, BCNA members are encouraged to head to bcna.org.au.

I became aware of your business and meals when I reviewed them for BCNA. I am no longer in active treatment but I remember what it was like on chemo and radiotherapy and I really wish your products had been available for me then. I am so glad that this partnership has come into being.
