World Pasta Day

Posted by Tracey Emney on

It’s World Pasta Day! Now this is a day we can get on board with - we love the stuff. Why? Because it’s delicious, simple, cheap and so versatile.

The thing is, we know that traditional pasta doesn’t love a lot of people with IBS or food sensitivities. Reactions might range from true coeliac disease, to the less well defined ‘gluten intolerance’ or sensitivity to the highly fermentable carbohydrates in pasta – which are called fructans. Bloating, pain, bowel upset, ‘foggy head’ and systemic aches and pains are the most commonly reported symptoms associated with wheat intolerance.

But at We Feed You, we’re pretty happy with ourselves. As you probably already know, our gluten free meals are made in a dedicated gluten free kitchen. Yep that’s right – an entire menu dedicated to our gluten free customers! But it’s only been more recently that we’ve added gluten free pasta options to our menu. We wanted to make sure our pasta held it’s form, had bite and tasted great when reheated from frozen. And we reckon we’ve nailed it.

This World Pasta Day, even coeliacs and IBS sufferers can join in, and have their pasta without the gut ache. Our range of gluten free rice based pasta meals currently include 4 delicious options: Classic Beef Stroganoff, Hearty Tuna Pasta, Classic Bolognese and Goats Cheese and Mushroom. Have you tried them yet? Let us know your favourite!

And we’re always looking for suggestions when updating our menu with the seasons. So if there’s a pasta dish you’d like to see, let us know in the comments!
